Business Mediation

 Business Mediation and Agreements

When you reach an impasse with a client it can become fraught and difficult very quickly, how do you you ensure the relationship concludes with you getting paid and being able to move on fast?  Business mediation and mediated settlements which result in clear termination agreements help bring a relationship which has failed (due to a fall out or non payment or both) more easily. It allows you both to focus on what you want, to part as amicably as you can with a minimum of loss.

Less costly/less time consuming Business Mediation

The speed of a court case, fees involved and the vagaries of a judge making a decision all add in risk to a typical business fall out. Mediation cuts to the end game, the results both of you want and need to move on. In simple terms we stop focusing on blame and where the journey has led us, to what needs to happen right now to get things over and sorted. A compromise or two from both sides to avoid eye watering costs and hours of time being spent.

How do we start Business Mediation?

We can run a structured mediation session in person or run a settlement online, often with smaller matters being settled on a fair assessment of what needs to happen and an agreement drafted reflecting what both parties have agreed. This can also be done in an online chat room (secure) or via secure emails. The end result is an agreement ready for all sides to sign off and move on.

Does Business Mediation settle any form of business dispute?

Pretty much yes, the main thing is you need to both agree this is the way you want to settle matters to avoid litigation. If you don’t or one side wants to stall or hedge their bets in a court, mediation will not work and you will not achieve the sign off you need.

How do we start Business Mediation with Law Hound?

Everyone signs a short agreement to a mediated settlement and once both have signed the mediator (us) drafts the necessary paperwork on what is agreed and fair. Depending on the nature of the issue we may ask for more details and come to a decision or we may draft an agreement based on what all parties have agreed and believe is fair and reasonable. Mediation is not about everyone getting everything they are entitled to in law it is, with us anyway, about taking a view on what is needed to settle matters and not have the issue hanging over everyone. Finalising things to ensure everything is settled in a business like way and to settle on terms so everyone walks away with the matter resolved.
